NextAccord adds an unsubscribe link to every campaign email using a signed token. Clicking it records the opt-out against the contact, and campaign sends check that state before every send, so an unsubscribed contact is skipped from then on.
Steps
- Step 1: A recipient clicks the unsubscribe link in a campaign email; a public unsubscribe page confirms the request.
- Step 2: NextAccord records the opt-out for that contact and adds the address to campaign suppression.
- Step 3: On every later campaign send, contacts with no email, or who have opted out or unsubscribed, are filtered out of the recipient list.
Common problems
- A contact says they still received campaign email after unsubscribing.
- Check the contact’s consent state. If they are not shown as unsubscribed, the click may not have completed — an owner or admin can review campaign delivery and suppression. Emails already queued before the opt-out may still have gone out.
- The unsubscribe page shows the link is invalid or expired.
- The token only works from a real NextAccord campaign email. Ask the contact to use the link in the most recent message, or opt them out manually from the contact record.
Good to know
- You cannot add or remove the campaign unsubscribe footer — it is managed and always included.
- System-to-user email (invitations, digests, reminders, lead alerts) is a different sending stream with its own suppression list; opting out of campaigns does not stop those, and vice versa.
- System notification preferences control only email sent to app users, not email to CRM contacts.
