Commission defaults are your normal structure; they prefill new transactions and can be changed later without touching deals that already exist. On a transaction you record the commission inputs and confirm payment when it actually arrives.
Who can do this
- Owners and Admins — can do this for any record or setting in the account.
- Agents — can do this only for records they are assigned to.
- Assistants — cannot do this.
Roles are predefined by NextAccord. See all roles & permissions
Steps
- Step 1: Open Settings → Transactions and set your personal commission defaults (an owner or admin can also set account-wide defaults used when a member has none).
- Step 2: On a new transaction, the commission fields prefill from your defaults. Adjust them for that specific deal.
- Step 3: As the deal progresses, review projected and expected commission.
- Step 4: When commission is actually received, mark it paid — this is an explicit confirmation, never automatic.
Common problems
- I cannot see commission on a deal.
- Owners and admins see commission on any deal; agents see it on deals assigned to them; assistants have no commission visibility at all.
- Changing my defaults did not update an existing transaction.
- That is intended. Defaults only prefill new transactions; existing deals keep the values they were created with.
Good to know
- Commission tracking is for your own record-keeping. It is not payroll, tax, invoicing, escrow, or brokerage disbursement.
